Cancer Research UK www.cancerhelp.org.uk A very thorough site covering all the major cancers with lots of medical information on; risk factors, symptoms and diagnosis, treatment, living with it, as well as publications, help organisations and other websites. It is a free service for people with cancer and their families.

It offers all contacts confidential, emotional support via a telephone help-line, e-mail, letter and now a web site. It gives information about other related groups and organisations when appropriate; does not offer specific medical advice.
Health Talk Online www.healthtalkonline.org HealthTalkOnline lets you share in other people's experiences of health and illness. You can watch or listen to videos of the interviews, read about people's experiences and find reliable information about conditions, treatment choices and support.
Macmillan Cancer Support www.macmillan.org.uk Cancerbackup merged with Macmillan in 2008. They now provide quality assured, up-to-date cancer information, written by specialists for patients, relatives and carers. They also provide grants for cancer patients in financial need and specialist cancer nurses.
Maggie’s Centres www.maggiescentres.org Maggie’s Centres are for people who have been recently diagnosed with cancer, have been living with cancer for years or have a friend or relative who has cancer. Each Centre is situated beside an NHS Cancer Hospital and has been designed to be as un-institutional as possible, with light, space and warmth. You don’t need to make a time or appointment to visit a Maggie’s Centre you can just walk through the door. There are no payments to be made and no forms to be filled in. All centres are run by professional, specialist staff.

NHS Direct Online www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk NHS Direct Online has been developed to improve access to health information. The website has information on a wide range of conditions and illnesses. It gives a basic summary on different cancers its diagnosis, symptoms, treatment and resources.
Ovarian Cancer Action www.ovarian.org.uk Ovarian Cancer Action is committed to improving survival for women with ovarian cancer through research, awareness and giving advice. Their aim is to improve survival rates for women with ovarian cancer.
Ovarian Let's Shout for Linda www.OvarianLetsShoutForLinda.co.uk We are a new and the first Scottish Charity dedicated to Ovarian Cancer. Our aim is to make a real difference to the survival rate for all women suffering from ovarian cancer. Our mission is to work with communities in raising awareness of ovarian cancer by supplying information about the disease and to actively advocate and champion screening and early diagnostic testing. We also actively encourage and promote more effective treatments and to raise funds to advance research towards finding a cure.
Ovacome www.ovacome.org.uk Ovacome is a UK based charity established in 1996, by an ovarian cancer patient named Sarah Dickinson. We provide support and information for all those affected by ovarian cancer. The charity offers our 5,500+ members with a supportive community by way of a detailed website, an informational leaflet series, a nurse helpline which puts members in touch via a phone buddy system and the organisation of regular fund raising events. Ovacome are leading advocates, successfully campaigning for change, to promote earlier diagnosis in symptomatic women and better ongoing treatment of the disease. All of our services are free of charge.
